Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) are employee support programmes offered by employers and are intended to assist employees in dealing with personal problems which may adversely impact on their job performance, health, and well-being.

Counselling Services

Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by trained and qualified practitioners who work with people, either individually, or as a group/family, over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance their wellbeing.

Talking therapies may include counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and psychotherapy, the occupational health team is key in identifying which form of therapy is best suited to the person and their situation, then PHC can arrange this on behalf of the employer in a totally confidential, yet cost effective way.

Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability through movement an exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. It takes a holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

Evidence based research shows that early intervention following an accident/incident or injury using focussed physiotherapy will improve the final outcome for the employee, assist in rehabilitation to the workplace and ultimately reduce sickness absence.

The occupational health team are key in identifying whether physiotherapy is appropriate and in accessing this treatment.

In addition, PHC has developed a network of over 120 accredited partner organisations coordinated from our PHC in Maidstone who provide an integrated national service throughout the UK and Ireland. Occupational health assessments can be arranged throughout the UK and Ireland either on a one off basis or as part of a comprehensive service.
